Global Fleet & Trade began to take shape with the first planning work. A basic idea developed into the design for a maritime economic simulation centred on trade, ports, ships and long-term development.
The vision was clear from the beginning: this would not be a fast action game, but a calm, strategic trading world. Players should build a shipping company, deploy ships, move goods, unlock ports and make economic decisions.
The period between 1880 and 1920 was chosen as the historical setting. This era combines traditional seafaring with early industrialisation, steamships, growing ports and international trade. It therefore creates a rich foundation for both gameplay mechanics and atmosphere.
The first core ideas included starting capital, a home port, initial ships, port rights, counting houses, markets, flows of goods and an expanding world map. It was clear from an early stage that ships should not be merely numerical values, but visible and meaningful parts of the game world.
The visual direction was also established. Dark maritime colours, warm gold tones, historic harbour motifs and a calm interface would carry the game's appearance. The interface should not feel generically modern, but belong to the world of Global Fleet & Trade.
This project launch marks the beginning of a long-term development process. From initial concepts, tables and design ideas, an independent trading world is emerging step by step, bringing together economic planning, maritime atmosphere and visible development.
