The first trading routes get under way!

An important step has been reached in Global Fleet & Trade: the first ships can now be sent actively on routes. The next step is the visual presentation of ships and routes on the world map.

The first trading routes get under way!
A central part of the game is beginning to come alive with the new route system. Shipping companies can now do more than manage their ships in port: they can dispatch them deliberately to other cities and harbours. For the first time, this creates the feeling of a genuine trading world in which movement, planning and time play decisive roles.

The route planner forms the foundation for future trading functions. Ships can be assigned to a destination port, leave their current harbour and then visibly enter the ‘at sea’ status. Once the travel time has elapsed, they reach their destination and become available there for further tasks.

This establishes an important foundation for later goods transport. In future, routes will not be merely journeys, but will be connected with cargo, trade, risks, events and economic decisions. Every voyage should become part of a larger strategy: Which good is worthwhile? Which port offers a profit? Which ship is fast enough? And when is the right time to begin a route?

This first functional program flow now serves as a stable basis for further expansion of the route system. The technical foundation is in place, the initial tests have succeeded and Global Fleet & Trade has taken a major step towards becoming a playable trading simulation.

The fleets are beginning to move.
