GLOBAL FLEET & TRADE · HANDBOOK
Home Port and Active Port
Your home port is the permanent administrative base of your company. The active port is the location whose city, market and office screens you are currently managing.
At a Glance
- Home port and active port are different concepts.
- Full port functions may require access rights and a local office.
- Changing the active view never moves a vessel.
The two terms
| Term | Meaning | What it does not do |
| Home port | Permanent administrative base of your company. | It does not teleport vessels or guarantee prices. |
| Active port | The city whose local screens are currently open. | It does not create a voyage or transfer cargo. |
Change the active port
- Open the active office selector.
- Choose a port where your company has an accessible office.
- Check the port name in the page header.
- Before every trade, confirm that market and warehouse belong to the intended port.
Why vessel location is separate
A vessel remains at its real location. Moving it requires a route; moving goods requires loading and transport.
