Cities are voyage destinations and local economic areas. City size, port type, access and licence requirements determine which functions can be used.

- Acquire any required port right before using protected functions.
- Move a vessel there by route; changing the active view is not a voyage.
City size and port type
City size describes the scale of the location. Port type describes its nautical role, such as river, coastal or ocean port. Neither value automatically identifies the most profitable good.
